Oyez, oyez! The year 2011 marks the celebration of the 1100th anniversary of the foundation of the Dukedom of Normandy. William the Conqueror will be the guest of honour throughout Calvados: the key sites associated with his epic adventure (www.lafabuleuseepopee.com) will soon be equipped with hi-tech signposting. In Bayeux, the William the Conqueror centre is organising a cross examination of the Bayeux Tapestry and the Tale of the Great Minister Ban, two French and Japanese national treasures.
